Green Cleaning

Green Cleaning Website:  New York’s Green Cleaning Program  - The New York State Office of General Services (OGS), under the leadership of Governor David A. Paterson and Commissioner John C. Egan, is pleased to provide this website for use by institutions and the general public. Its purpose is to offer facility managers, school administrators, educators, parents, and citizens a wealth of free information and tools to promote adoption of effective green cleaning practices, leading to healthier indoor environments.

In addition to offering such documents as Green Cleaning Guidelines, OGS Green Cleaning Product Lists, Frequently Asked Questions, and Best Practices, the revised website now contains the Program Toolkit.  This Program Toolkit section provides information on the Five Steps to a Green Cleaning Program to help users initiate and implement an effective program covering all aspects of green cleaning. The Program Toolkit contains documents and templates that users can download and customize for their specific needs.

Any data collection must be done in accordance with FERPA and HIPPA requirements.
